Credit companies lowering your limit

Watch out for credit card companies that will review your credit and then lower your available credit down to the limit of you balance.  This lowers your credit rating.  The best way to handle this is to talk to the company if you have made payments on time, if they continue to give you the run around then inform them you will be contacting the better business bureau and lodging a complaint.  I found this helpful when Citibank did this and there was no reason for them to.
